At-Home Ketamine Therapy in New Jersey: A Homecoming

At-Home Ketamine Therapy in New Jersey: A Homecoming

Dr. Ben Soffer|

When I Founded Discreet Ketamine

My mission was to bring personalized, board-certified medical care out of the cold clinic environment and back into the most sacred space we have: the home. Today, I am proud to announce that we are officially bringing our at-home ketamine therapy to New Jersey. For me, this isn't just an expansion; it's a homecoming.

A Deep Connection to the Garden State

My roots in New Jersey run deep. Having lived in Lakewood and maintained close ties with the Orthodox Jewish community, I understand that for many, seeking mental health support requires a unique blend of cultural nuance, trust, and total privacy. My family (including my mother) and many of my closest friends still call New Jersey home, and I am personally invested in the well-being of the residents here.

Professional Expertise You Can Trust

Before practicing as a concierge physician in Florida, I forged my medical identity right here in the Northeast. I completed my medical residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where I saw firsthand the resilience of NJ residents.

Whether you are seeking ketamine for depression in Lakewood, PTSD treatment in the suburbs of North Jersey, or relief from chronic burnout at the Jersey Shore, you deserve a physician who knows your community.

Why Choose At-Home Ketamine Therapy?

Many patients searching for a "ketamine clinic near me" are surprised to find that the most effective setting for psychedelic-assisted healing isn't a clinic at all; it's their own living room.

Privacy and Discretion

No public waiting rooms or commutes on the Parkway after a session.

Safety and Comfort

Processing therapeutic insights in a familiar environment leads to better outcomes in "set and setting." As a board-certified physician, I provide the same level of safety you'd find in a hospital, delivered via the convenience of telehealth in New Jersey and Florida.

Why "Discreet" Matters for New Jersey

Whether you're in Clifton, the bustling shore towns, or the suburbs of South Jersey, privacy is a premium. Many of my patients are leaders, parents, and professionals who want to explore the transformative power of ketamine therapy without the "medical theater" of a traditional clinic.

They don't want to fight traffic on Route 9 or sit in a public waiting room after a deeply internal session. They want to process their experience where they feel safest.

The Medical Guardrails: Safety is Our Priority

While the "discreet" nature of our practice offers unparalleled comfort, it never comes at the expense of safety. As a board-certified physician, I have built "medical guardrails" into every step of our process. We don't just ship medication; we provide a structured clinical framework. This includes a mandatory "Trusted Sitter" protocol for every session, real-time blood pressure monitoring, and clear fasting guidelines.

By combining the convenience of telehealth in New Jersey and Florida with rigorous physician oversight, we ensure that your journey is as secure as it is transformative. We believe that true healing can only happen when the body feels safe and the mind feels supported.

Expanding Our Reach: New York and Beyond

While we are currently focused on serving our neighbors in Florida and New Jersey, the horizon is bright. We are actively working on expanding our telemedicine ketamine services to New York and other states soon.

Our goal is to make safe, legal, and private ketamine treatment accessible to everyone who needs it.

Is At-Home Ketamine Right for You?

If you've struggled with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, or PTSD, you don't have to face it alone. We specialize in:

  • At-home ketamine lozenges (troches) or dissolving tablets (RDT / ODT)
  • Personalized integration support
  • Telehealth consultations for NJ and FL residents

Frequently Asked Questions

Is at-home ketamine therapy legal in New Jersey?

Yes. New Jersey allows physician-prescribed ketamine therapy via telehealth, including sublingual ketamine for at-home administration, when prescribed by a licensed physician with appropriate evaluation, monitoring, and a safety protocol. Dr. Ben Soffer is licensed in New Jersey through Benjamin Soffer DO PC, the New Jersey state entity for the practice.

Does Discreet Ketamine serve all of New Jersey?

Yes, all 21 New Jersey counties. Because the program is delivered via telehealth, patients in Bergen, Hudson, Essex, Monmouth, Ocean, and every other county in the state can access care without traveling to a clinic. The intake, sessions, and follow-ups all happen from home with a physician supervisor available remotely.

How does telehealth ketamine work for New Jersey patients?

The standard flow: complete the eligibility screening online, have an initial physician consultation via secure video, receive medication shipped from a partner compounding pharmacy, prepare the home space with a peer supervisor present, take the sublingual dose during a scheduled session window, and follow up with the physician for integration and dose titration. Most patients complete the entire induction series (10 or more sessions over 4 to 8 weeks) without leaving home.

Do I need to come to a Lakewood or Jersey Shore office for treatment?

No. Discreet Ketamine is fully telehealth-based. There is no physical office to visit. The home setting is part of what makes the program work; many patients have their best sessions specifically because they're not in a medical environment.

What does at-home ketamine therapy cost in New Jersey?

The same pricing applies in NJ and FL: $250 for a 1-month plan, $650 for 3 months, $1,200 for the most-common 6-month plan, $2,200 for a 1-year maintenance plan. Returning patients receive 10% off the 6-month plan. HSA/FSA eligible. Insurance is generally not accepted for at-home sublingual ketamine.

Is ketamine therapy covered by insurance in New Jersey?

Off-label sublingual ketamine (the at-home format) is generally not covered by insurance, in NJ or anywhere else. Spravato (the FDA-approved esketamine nasal spray, administered in certified clinics) is covered by most NJ private insurance plans, NJ Medicare, and some NJ Medicaid plans with prior authorization. If insurance coverage is your priority and you can travel to a certified Spravato clinic in NJ, that's the cost-effective starting point.

Can I get ketamine therapy in New Jersey if I live near a state border?

Yes, as long as your primary residence is in New Jersey (or you spend significant time at a NJ address). For patients who live near the NY, PA, or DE borders and have homes in multiple states, the prescribing rules require that the patient be physically located in NJ at the time of the session. Patients who reside in NY, PA, or DE only are not currently served, but the practice is actively expanding to additional states.

Are there New Jersey clinics that offer in-person ketamine if at-home isn't right for me?

Yes. Several IV ketamine clinics operate in New Jersey for patients who need higher-acuity care, want in-person monitoring, or have medical conditions that contraindicate at-home treatment. If during intake we determine that at-home isn't appropriate for you, we'll refer you to a clinical-setting alternative rather than start a program that won't fit. See our comparison piece on at-home vs IV clinic for the full tradeoffs.
